Japan at Three

I have gone on many trips in my life.  I've gone to places like the fire station, the old people's home, and the matzah factory.  For those trips, I took a bus.

It was time for a bigger trip, so we decided to go to Japan.

This was going to be an extra special trip because we were going with Mommy, Daddy, Popo, Daddy Gung Gung and Ayee.

The day before our trip, Daddy and I practiced going on the plane.  I've been on planes before, but only when I was a baby, so I don't remember.

We used my toy airport to practice going to the airport, putting our luggage on the carousel, being stoic during the security clearance, and sitting on the plane.

I packed my bags and chose to bring Bunny and Badger as my stuffy delegates during the trip.

The next morning, I was ready to go!

When it was time to get to the airport, Daddy Gung Gung told us that the plane to Japan was all full, so we would have to go a different way.  This is because we were flying Standby.

Standby is like having a maybe ticket.

Instead of flying straight to Japan we were going to go a different way.  The different way was to go to South Korea and then to Japan.

As long as we can get to another country that uses mostly chopsticks and eats a lot of rice, everything would be fine.

Turns out that things were going to be really fun...

When we got to the Vancouver Airport, we drank smoothies and had snacks

One the plane to South Korea, I ate, slept and watched movies.  Bunny did too.

It took twelve hours to fly to Korea

We had dinner at a restaurant that smelled like fish sauce.  Mommy, Daddy and Ayee had a meal called Bibimbap.

After dinner, Daddy got an emergency alert on his phone.  We thought it might be the bad Korea misbehaving.  It was just a warning about too much dust in the air.

We all went to sleep that night, excited about going to Japan the next day!
